Live-in Care

Caring for a loved one at home can be physically and emotionally demanding. At Medcom Personnel we understand that carers themselves will often need additional support in their role of looking after a loved one..

Designed to give an existing, such as a family member, a break from their workload, our Live-in Care Companions will support you to the exact same standard of care that you’re accustomed to, and are available on a short or long-term basis.

What Is Live In Care?

Live-in care provides a safe alternative to nursing home facilities by providing assistance with health or personal needs. Live-in care involves a caregiver who is with the senior all day, ready to assist with anything from trips to the grocery store, to doctor visits, to getting dressed in the morning.
Our Live-In Care is available in several different formats, depending on the type of support you are looking for.
We offer simpler Live-In Care services for more independent clients – these are ideal for you if you do not require any help getting dressed or using the bathroom, but instead are looking for a combination of companionship and support with household duties such as cooking and cleaning.
Your Live-In Care service can include several other services, such as assistance getting dressed and support with bathroom and hygiene activities if you would like. We are also able to offer specialist support for specific medical conditions too.

The Benefits Of Live In Care

There are plenty of benefits to receiving live-in care, but here are just a few reasons why more and more people are choosing live-in care from Medcompersonnel.

Staying at home

A person’s home is their own little time capsule, holding personal treasures and precious memories, which can make it very difficult to give up. But beyond the sentimentality attached to your own little patch of the world, the familiarity of home is good for a number of reasons.
Remaining in recognisable surroundings is a major benefit for people needing care – particularly if that person is suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia. Simple things like easily navigating your way through the home can make all the difference to someone who might be prone to becoming confused.

Dedicated Care

Care homes, though staffed with care professionals ‘round-the-clock, simply can’t offer the same level of attention a dedicated, live-in care professional would be able to provide you or your loved one. And that’s simply because staff at care homes must take responsibility for the well being of multiple at any given time.

Peace of mind

Not only does having someone stay throughout the night have safety benefits, it also eases the minds of the people receiving care and their family members too. Meaning everyone can get a restful, and safe night’s sleep.

Family input

Having one or two dedicated carers makes it far easier for members of the family to feel included in a person’s care plan. It’s easy to stay up-to-date and in touch, when you’re familiar with people providing care.

Quality & Assurance Care

Are there security checks for carers? – Private in-home care agencies complete Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS)checks for all carers. Further, at Medcom Personnel, it is standard procedure to follow up with each carers’ references. This is done to ensure that references check out and to inquire about the quality of care delivered by a carer and whether it is up to the Medcom standard – above par care that is delivered with compassion.
